Our Services

Transfers

Our transfers are always provided on a pre-booked, private basis - we do not do shuttles or shared transfers. Our vehicles can accomodate one suitcase / bag and one piece of hand luggage per person, at no charge. Excess luggage or golf bags may require the use of a luggage trailer, at an additional charge. All transfers include complimentary still water.

At airports and train stations our driver/guides meet our guests with a printed signboard and will not leave their destination until satisfied that the hotel or guesthouse is holding the reservation. We will pick-up and drop-off at hotels, guesthouses or private residences.

Madikwe Game Reserve lies +/- 450 km north west of Johannesburg, along the border with Botswana. The reserve covers some 75 000 hectares and is surrounded by a 150 km long electrified perimeter fence. The travelling time between OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) and Madikwe is approximately 4.5 to 5 hours.

There are three main entry gates - Abjaterskop, Molatedi and Wonderboom. There is a fourth gate - Derdepoort - which is used mostly when travelling between Madikwe and the Waterberg region of Limpopo province.

Both Abjaterskop and Wonderboom gates are on the western side of the reserve. To reach these gates we follow the N4 / R49 route via the towns of Rustenburg, Swartruggens and Zeerust, which is tarred all the way to the gates.

Molatedi gate is on the south eastern side of the reserve and, to reach this gate, we travel via Sun City, which includes +/- 32 km of gravel road between the end of the tar and the gate.

All roads inside the reserve are gravel and travelling time from the gates to the various lodges ranges from 20 minutes to nearly an hour, depending on weather conditions and game sightings along the way.

The gate opening hours are 06:00am to 8:00pm
